Woo, celebrate!
Look, we don’t do this for the numbers, but some things just feel nice, or look better when we’re volunteering to work at and promote local conventions. So hitting four digits on both of our major social media accounts is an accomplishment that some people notice.
How did we do it?
Well, we have been over 1,000 followers on Instagram for over a year just by sharing our usual cosplay and geek news there, but Facebook was a whole other story. We were stagnating at just over 900 for months.
So we had an idea for a series and hoped for the best: The Overwhelmed and Underfollowed Series.
We were truly too overwhelmed to do a bunch of involved skits or reach out in a bunch of groups. Plus, we didn’t want to spam people JUST asking them for followers. We wanted to show people new to the Phoenix Sisters who we actually are.
The Overwhelmed and Underfollowed series was a set of matching posts and reels on FB and IG that highlighted a different funny cosplay photo edit every day for 20 days.
(Yes, we missed a few days along the way, but hey, the series literally mentions how overwhelmed we’ve been in the title.)
