About Us

Who doesn’t love an origin story?

Kelly and Crayle met at the Superman Celebration while Crayle was in college. They continued an internet friendship for over a year, even after Crayle moved to Colorado, a far drive away from Illinois where they met, or Wisconsin where Kelly lived.

Despite the long distance, different time zones, and even different elevations above sea level, we couldn’t help but notice that we were getting migraines on the same day… Uh oh.

You see, Kelly cosplays as Phoenix and Crayle cosplays as Dark Phoenix. And any X-Men fan knows that psychics getting migraines is always a sign of trouble!

The trouble here being that Crayle and Kelly were realizing they had more and more in common, and were about to start teaming up for creative projects that would drag in almost every person they know at one point or another!

Crayle had had a new boyfriend for less than 6 months when Kelly got it in her head that that was the year she would create one of her favorite comic panels: Jean busting in on Emma Frost and Scott Summers as they psychically canoodled.

She asked “Hey, do you think you could get your boyfriend (who doesn’t cosplay, by the way) to take his shirt off for a photoshoot?” And Crayle said “Oh, I think I could motivate him!”

(Side note: The boyfriend was David, who is now Crayle’s husband.)

Since then, our bond has only grown. We finish each others’ sandwiches. We want to do the same cosplay shoots even without discussing them. And we want to get to know all of you too!

This has turned into us also nosing into all of each other’s creative endeavors and side gigs. Kelly helps where she can with Crayle’s Pokeball business. Crayle edits Kelly’s books. We co-host podcasts. We work together promoting indie books, comics, and art. We even co-write a cosplay tips article in Otaku Asylum Magazine.

We’re attached at the hip, and everyone benefits, because together we are a bottomless well of entertainment. ❤

Starting in her late 20’s, Crayle managed to turn several of her nerdy interests into her job. Her husband and dog tend to look on with mild confusion, but are very supportive.

She lives in central Indiana and keeps herself very busy.

Kelly Guentner-Edwards has too many hobbies, much to her long-suffering husband’s chagrin. She is an author, a cosplayer, a podcaster, and the chairwoman of the Multiverse FunRaiser. She will talk your ear off about Black Canary or the role of comics in American history if you’ll let her, and lives in southern Wisconsin.
