Get in! We’re going back to Times of Future Past!

  • by

This June, Kelly represented the Phoenix Sisters for a second year in a row at Times of Future Past: A Cosplay Festival for any era!

She was there as a totally hot Batgirl! Literally because wearing black leather in June is true dedication to the cosplay craft.

She entertained in the lanes as a cast member, greeting attendees and playing off of other cast members. She kept the fair grounds safe, even though it was a day time event, and Bat Girl is more of a nocturnal vigilante. Haha…

In 2023, Crayle and Kelly were both present as Ciri and Triss from The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. They had an amazing time, and were flattered to be invited back. Crayle would have loved to also attend in 2024, but had really bad car troubles (a moment of silence for her radiator and various other car parts…). She was totally jealous of the great time that Kelly had this year.

As in the previous year, Times of Future Past had TONS of entertainment, most of which can be enjoyed just by being there with a regular ticket.

This was their first year in their new location in Iowa – Sleepy Hollow Sports park, which is a gigantic park, featuring freestanding renaissance faire-style buildings, and even a fairy tree!

Live entertainment included cosplay-based demonstrations, live music from the 50s and 60s, aerial art performances, Mark Twain re-enactments, an educational and tasty Suffragette tea, a teal duel, and characters from various sci-fi and fantasy genres wandering the grounds.

This was a weekend to step into a multi-verse that celebrated history, fantasy, superheroes, and all your favorite stories, all rolled into one magical location.

And what’s even better, Times of Future Past is a non-profit, with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Every ticket sold makes a difference!

Dates for 2025 have been posted, so make sure you check out this great event! https://futurepastfestival.com/
